App: City Grid (package in.citygrid.citizen)
Operator: City Grid (citygridhelp@gmail.com)
Last updated: July 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the City Grid citizen mobile app (“App”) collects, uses, and protects information when you report potholes and road hazards.

1. Who we are

City Grid is a civic reporting tool that helps citizens submit road damage reports to municipal workflows. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at citygridhelp@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Data Purpose
Email address Create and secure your account, sign-in, password reset, email verification
Password Authentication (stored securely by our auth provider; we do not store plain-text passwords in the app)
Full name Collected at signup and stored with your account; not shown publicly on maps or recent reports

You may browse some features as a guest, but My Reports and cloud sync require an account.

2.2 Location

Data Purpose
Precise location (GPS) Show your position on the map, tag reports with coordinates, and resolve area labels

Location is used when you report a pothole or use map features that need your position. You can revoke location permission in Android settings; some features will not work without it.

2.3 Photos and report content

Data Purpose
Camera photos Close-up and wide road photos attached to your report
Severity, optional note Describe the hazard
City / area label Route and display the report in the correct metro

When you submit a report, photos and location are uploaded to our cloud backend.

2.4 Anonymous reporter identity

On public maps and recent reports, we show this anonymous ID — not your email or real name.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or sell your personal data.

3. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

On-device photo checks: Before submit, photos may be analyzed on your phone using rule-based checks to reduce invalid submissions. In the current app version, those checks do not send your photos to a separate commercial AI service for validation.

4. What is public vs private
